    So where do I start…

    Hello everyone,

The aim is to apply for a Mortgage in the near future (under a year). Although I haven’t found the perfect house yet. BUT we have been accepted for a Mortgage in principle.
I have a credit card with my husband being named on it also.
I have an outstanding credit rating and my partner does too. The only issue is my partner occasionally has missed the odd payment a year or so ago.
Will this affect our joint application ? would it be better for me to apply alone ? Does this even really matter ? Maybe I am over thinking things..

    Please advise.

    Hi Freddie

Thank you for your enquiry. I can understand you have some concerns regarding the occasional missed payment. Most lenders will ignore the odd 1 or 2 missed payments over a year ago. You mentioned that you both have outstanding credit scores and also have an agreement in principle, therefore its safe to say you would not have a problem with your application.

It may be wise to advise your husband to set up a direct debit for the minimum amount for the credit card to ensure that it is paid on time each month. he can then top up the payment in the month.

Please do get in touch and we can discuss this further.
