Leaving the EU could result in lots of major changes for the UK, but the group who may well be affected worst are ex-pats living abroad. There are 1.3 million Brits living in other countries of the EU, out of the 4.5 million total Brits currently living abroad. The decision to vote for Brexit has sparked fears of Brits becoming “illegal immigrants” overnight, or seeing themselves lose the right to free healthcare, among other worries.
