Some of the smallest homes in Europe are in the UK, with its average home size of just 76 sqm; compare that to Denmark’s average home of 137 sqm. But 76 sqm is huge compared to one of the newest housing trends out there: micro-homes. Micro-homes are homes less than 37 sqm, and some 7800 of them were built in the UK last year, helped by a change in zoning regulations that allowed developers to convert business use space into residential properties.
