The latest index data shows house prices in the UK increased by over 7% in the 12 months ending December 2016. Prices also increased by 1.2% between November and December. This took the average price of a property in the UK up to £219,544. The biggest monthly increase for the last month of 2016 came in the North East, which saw a surge of 2.3%
