Research finds house prices on the M25 have grown by 54% in the last 5 years, compared to a 42% rise in the UK overall. The biggest price rise is in Chigwell (£275,278), with 8 out of 10 areas on the motorway, which orbits London, seeing property price increases of over £100,000. The study, conducted by Halifax, showed Rickmansworth as the most expensive town on the M25, with average house prices of £551,959. However, housing in London itself remains more expensive, as house prices in the capital are currently 32% higher than on the M25.
