Zoopla reports that buying a two-bedroom home is now cheaper than renting one in 60% of UK cities, assuming a 10% deposit. The difference is most pronounced in Scotland and the North, whereas in the south and especially in London, renting may still be the more cost-effective option. In April, cuying was cheaper in only 48% of UK cities surveyed.
