Added to this are the associated costs eg Search fees, Land Registry fees, electronic transfer fees. You’d normally pay these through the solicitor and you’re easily looking at least £600 plus VAT, all in, on a £100,000 house purchase.
Licenced Conveyancers can cost from £100 upwards – though it’s said that anything less than £150 should be regarded with suspicion. They often cost the same as a solicitor.
Add the associated costs (see above) and it’s at least £400.
